From March 17 through April 9, Extra Space Storage hosted its first-ever Bracket Challenge! This year’s theme was home decorating styles and pitted some of the most popular home designs against one another. With the help of our incredible online community through Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and this blog, we’re able to announce our 2020 Bracket Challenge Winner! But first, let’s remember all of the home decor contenders…

  • Round 1: Modern Farmhouse (67%) vs. Industrial (33%) | WINNER: Modern Farmhouse
  • Round 2: Mid-Century Modern (61%) vs. Bohemian (39%) | WINNER: Mid-Century Modern
  • Round 3: Vintage/Rustic (45%) vs. Coastal (55%) | WINNER: Coastal

Modern Farmhouse snagged the win this year, receiving 75% of the votes in the final round against Eclectic! One of the hottest design trends in the home makeover world right now, thanks to Chip and Joanna Gaines from Fixer Upper, Modern Farmhouse combines rustic, industrial, and minimalist elements to create a bright, airy interior design. With its neutral color palette, distressed wood, emphasis on natural lighting, and cozy materials, it’s no wonder why this home decorating style was the favorite of the Extra Space Storage online community!
