CEO Team of Excellence Winner Spotlights: Traci Scott, Tyler Brannon, Tyson Osborn, & Xiomara Rosado

The Extra Space Storage CEO Team of Excellence award is given out each year to recognize a group of exceptional professionals. Recipients are chosen by leaders from across the company for their outstanding accomplishments in the previous year and their dedication to company values.

This year, in addition to our annual announcement of all winners, we’re giving each one of these extraordinary individuals their time to shine. We asked each of them a few questions about their background and their thoughts on working at Extra Space Storage. Here’s a special look at four of our winners and what they had to say.

Traci Scott ​​​​​​​– Store Manager

CEO Team of Excellence Winner Traci Scott, Store Manager

Traci Scott has four children, 11 grandchildren, and one spoiled cat. She loves helping lost pets return home. When she has spare time, she searches through lost and found pet sites to help reconnect pets with their owners, and also finds foster homes for rescue animals. She is a skilled cake decorator; it’s been her creative outlet for 32 years!

Where are you from?

I am originally from Oklahoma, and I live in Texas now.

How many years have you worked at Extra Space Storage?

Two years.

What advice would you give someone just starting out at Extra Space Storage to help them succeed?

Be a team player, and help when and where you are needed. Always be honest; your integrity is who you really are. Always have empathy towards others. Take ownership and be accountable for your actions. And no matter what, smile when you dial! Customers can hear you smiling.

What do you enjoy most about working at Extra Space Storage?

I enjoy the people—whether it be other employees or the customers. I love knowing I can interact with customers yet remain professional. I enjoy knowing my training, skills, and personality can help someone, no matter what the circumstance is that caused the storage needs. Getting to know people and building relationships is enjoyable. I love the satisfaction of knowing I have helped others when needed.

Excellence. If we strive to be excellent—teamwork, integrity, passion, and innovation will come naturally!

Tyler Brannon ​​​​​​​– Junior Systems Administrator

CEO Team of Excellence Winner Tyler Brannon, Junior Systems Administrator

Tyler Brannon is an avid computer nerd who loves technology and everything behind it! If he’s not gaming on the weekends, he’s outdoors snowboarding, dirt biking, or camping. Before joining Extra Space Storage, he went to college for Information Technology while working full time. When he graduated, he applied at Extra Space Storage, and the rest is history!

Where are you from?

Salt Lake City, UT.

How many years have you worked at Extra Space Storage?

Five years.

What advice would you give someone just starting out at Extra Space Storage to help them succeed?

Just be yourself and don’t be afraid to ask questions! The more questions you have the more you will learn. Everyone here has great enthusiasm and is great to work with and will gladly help with whatever questions you have.

What do you enjoy most about working at Extra Space Storage?

The environment at Extra Space Storage is why I love working here! There are so many inspiring people on other teams that are very knowledgeable and make a huge impact. Not only are they great co-workers whom I can look up to, but I have made many friends along the way, and I’m sure many more to come!

Which Extra Space Storage value (Teamwork, Excellence, Integrity, Passion, Innovation) is important to you and why?

Teamwork. You cannot be a big, successful company without teamwork. There is no way we’d be where we’re at without the help from our coworkers.

Tyson Osborn – Store Manager​​​​​​​

CEO Team of Excellence Winner, Tyson Osborn, Store Manager

When Tyson Osborn isn’t at work, or working on someone’s car, he’s hanging out with his wife and two sons. He enjoys traveling, fishing, and anything that gets him outdoors. He and his wife foster dogs and have 4-10 dogs in their home at any given time!

Where are you from?

I grew up in several different areas of Utah and currently reside in Salt Lake City, UT.

How many years have you worked at Extra Space Storage?

Three years.

What advice would you give someone just starting out at Extra Space Storage to help them succeed?

You will have different situations arise that require your immediate attention each day; have the confidence in yourself to create solutions. Rely on your resources such as the Operations Knowledge Base, technology, and district team leads to help you work out issues and concerns.

What do you enjoy most about working at Extra Space Storage?

I enjoy the opportunity to manage and evolve a store and be able to genuinely help people. I enjoy working at a store that requires improvements and progress, and implementing plans to make those improvements happen.

Which Extra Space Storage value (Teamwork, Excellence, Integrity, Passion, Innovation) is important to you and why?

Integrity. We want to do the right thing first and always, regardless of consequences.

Xiomara Rosado ​​​​​​​– District Team Lead

CEO Team of Excellence Winner Xiomara Rosado

In her spare time, Xiomara Rosado practices traditional boxing and kickboxing three to four days a week. She is currently a level-one kickboxer and training for level two this year. She loves to swim, jet ski, parasail, and hang out at the beach during the summer. She is also working on getting her scuba diving certification this year.

Meriden, CT.

How many years have you worked at Extra Space Storage?

Over nine years.

What advice would you give someone just starting out at Extra Space Storage to help them succeed?

Do not be afraid to ask a peer for help. While self storage is not hard, there are lots of small nuances and procedures to learn. Mistakes happen but can be fixed if you ask for help.

What do you enjoy most about working at Extra Space Storage?

All employees here have the opportunity for career growth. If you work hard, you are not stuck in one place.

Which Extra Space Storage value (Teamwork, Excellence, Integrity, Passion, Innovation) is important to you and why?

Integrity. Always do the right thing no matter what. Integrity is not something you train, it’s a true value of someone’s character.
