In 2008, the Extra Space Storage Third-Party Management team set out to grow our third-party management platform with the ambitious goal of becoming a major contributor to the success of the organization. Since then, the team has launched ManagementPlus—a turnkey technology solution for self storage operators—and has grown to become the largest third-party management partner in the industry.
Today, the Third-Party Management team supports over 250 different partnership groups across the country. These partnerships account for more than 700 self storage facilities and make up about 38% of the Extra Space Storage portfolio. As we continue to grow, continuing our annual Partner Conference is essential to keep our partners informed about company performance and yearly goals. Here’s a glimpse at this year’s March 2021 conference, themed “Innovating For a Better Tomorrow.”
The continued goal of our Partner Conference is to share information with our partners. We cover everything from macro self storage trends to what we are doing at the store level. We love the opportunity to share and interact with our valued partners. This year, we focused specifically on how we responded to the events of 2020 and what we learned. And, of course, what we’re focused on moving forward with an eye toward innovation.
Although we pivoted to a virtual event in 2021, we’re already planning our next in-person conference in 2022 that will take place in Austin, TX. Meeting with you, our partners, in person is immensely important and a crucial part of our shared success in managing your properties. We look forward to seeing you at next year’s conference!
