Three out of 5 stars because of the lack of communication when vacating my unit. I had to empty a 10X20 unit by January 5th. I had called their main office ten days in advance as required to notify them and that was how I learned I had to be out by the 5th to avoid being charged the next months rent. I had nearly everything out on the 4th but my car was full of stuff to donate so I called the office on site to verify that as long as I notify them before the close of office hours the next day it would be in the system and I won't be charged another months rent. I was told I could call it in or stop by the site office. Next day I finish cleaning out the unit about 10:30am but when I went to let the on site manager know there was a sign saying the office was closed all day. I parked next door and called the main number and they put a note so the site manager would see it because that person has to inspect the unit before closing out the account. I was assured I would no longer be charged. On January 7, got an email saying I am late with the rent. I call the main number and was told they will email them again requesting a walk though. January 9th got a voicemail from the site manager stating they noticed I left my unit empty and assumed I had moved out without notifying them. I returned the call and the employee stated they are short handed and said no worries she is putting the unit back up for rent and I should not be billed. She sounded a bit rushed so that was that. If staff shortages are an issue the company might consider a small message on their webpage stating units being inspected may take longer than normal times. My worry was having to fork out another months rent despite having followed the required procedure for notifying my vacating the unit. It seemed the sending of messages from the main office to the site were not effective. If there is a staff shortage I could only imagine my messages were buried among hundreds of others.
