All in all it’s been a great first storage experience for our family. The facility is brand-new, super clean, and management has been excellent. The three stars is because of the pricing and rate increase experience. It is advertised as first month free, but between paying for the lock and admin fees there is still an upfront cost. Additionally, I felt secure purchasing the 10x20 unit because of the price each month, but was unaware of the random rate increase possibility. I started out at $170 per month and on our 4th month I got an email that I had been charged $230. To my surprise, my rate had been increased based upon “market value” and I had no warning. I’m sure this is covered in the fine print of the contract but it definitely left a bad impression on what had been an excellent experience so far. We are now downsizing our unit so we can afford it but are now worried how high a rate increase might go without warning for that unit. I did call and the manager was professional in explaining the rate increase and we did negotiate a solution which I appreciated. Definitely ask questions before purchasing a unit here. Best advice is to have less things and de-clutter your life.
