After searching through a multitude of storage unit facility options in Owings Mills along the Reisterstown Road corridor, I came to the conclusion that Extra Space Storage was clearly the best alternative for my needs. Having finalized my decision, I proceeded to their mobile friendly website, which was laid out in a rather forthright manner, operationally intuitive to navigate and designed in a far more professional layout than any of the others I looked at. I initially intended on completing the process online, as I felt as though renting a storage unit was a relatively straightforward process and more than likely a rather impersonal experience. However, after a few minutes on the site, I decided that it couldn’t hurt to swing by the facility, take a peek and perhaps see if I might get lucky and be able to find someone available to answer some questions. I arrived @ 3:52pm and noticed that there was a sign on the office door indicating that someone would be available at 4:00pm. If I was being recorded at that moment (which I’m sure I was, lol), I would have to imagine that the camera would have caught me rolling my eyes in an expression of sarcasm, never expecting anyone to show up anywhere near the designated 4:00pm time slot, or perhaps even at all. However, at exactly 4:00pm, I was greeted by an incredibly friendly, enthusiastic and knowledgeable salesperson who radiated a level of positivity so powerful, that within the blink of an eye, I found myself completely engaged in the storage unit selection process and enjoying it! Terri was not only the type of person who simply emitted a cheerful personality and sense of humor, she was also confident, concise and extremely well informed. She was in fact, a professional and to that point, an expert in regards to storage unit rentals. Consequently, she managed to somehow guide me from feeling slightly uncomfortable in an unfamiliar into a sense of calm, cool, collected ease, content in my decision. I chose a clean, 10’ by 20’ outdoor unit which accommodates drive up, zip in, zip out visits and elected to purchase the optional 24 hour access pass, which for me seemed like a decent feature. Importantly, they do offer options climate controlled units available also. I also really liked the fact that I was able to set my plan up on a month to month lease, which really affords me, what feels like a ton of flexibility and simultaneously alleviates any issues that could potentially arise as the result of being locked into a longer term commitment. Also worthy of mention, is the location, as the facility sits conveniently in the heart of Owings Mills. More specifically, this property is located on Groff Lane, which is a bit of an unusual road and almost seems like a secret, little nature cut through which connects an exceedingly busy section of Reisterstown Rd with Stevenson University and Nino Taco Plaza. All said, although it seems that there are quite a few storage facilities in this area, the options, amenities and super staffing @ “Extra Space Storage” are clearly a cut above the rest.

I was able to get a correction to my online order very easily. Jason was very helpful and courteous and went the extra mile.

Terri was wonderful with making sure I had the best unit for my belongings. Wonderful spirit with a great sense of humor. I’d recommend the 11002 Owings Mills Blvd location to anyone looking for storage!!!! Thank you!!!
