I’ve used Extra Space Storage a couple of times, but this review is specifically for the Lindon location. When I signed up, I prepaid for four months because it seemed like a good deal. What I didn’t expect was the huge rate increase that hit right after. I expected to pay the standard rate at the time I signed up. It felt like a shady business tactic — raising the price once they know your unit is full and you’re unlikely to move everything out. I was furious, but it made no financial sense to rent another trailer and relocate to a cheaper facility, so I was stuck riding it out. This is the same company thats in a class action lawsuit in New York for the same tactic, very shady business model in my opinion. To make things worse, when I finally moved out, I found mouse droppings all over my belongings inside the unit. I reported it, and the only response I got was, “I’m sorry, we’ll have to look into this.” If I would have known there was a mouse infestation, I wouldn't have rented from them. If your unit is along the 500's, you have mice and or rats inside your units I can guarantee it. After this experience, I won’t be using Extra Space Storage again. **Updated After Calling them: Nothing has changed. They talked about the rate increase and if I was a current customer, I could have negotiated... guess I should have called them. Between the mice droppings and rate increase, I still won't be using Extra Space Storaga again, and I would never reccomend them to anyone else. I'd stick to local ma and pop storage facilities.
