I have used this storage unit for over a year. Never had issues related to unit itself. But I am disappointed of the way how the manager acted, I went there 3 times this week to moved out everything off the unit and every time I went there, the manager would come with a broom “swiping” the floor, and approached me rudely, came to look at my things and what I was doing, the first time she said” not food allowed in the building” I didn’t have food, I was moving out boxes with pictures of kitchen supplies not cooking in the building or eating or storing food items. The second time I was with my kids and the little one had a water bottle, she came “swiping” again the floor again and said to us that no drinks or food allowed in the building, which I understand but this was water, in a hot day, while moving more stuff out of the unit. The last day she also came up “swiping” the floor and taking a look at my stuff, this time I asked if everything was okay, because it feels weird that every time I was there she was cleaning, but not really because every time she came up to me, she didn’t clean anything around me only came to what feel to take a look of what i was doing. That made me feel unwelcome and uncomfortable while moving out my stuff. I felt harassed by her and “swiping “ the floor every time I was there because she wasn’t swiping the hall, she literally came up to me with a broom and barked at something and approach very rude every time, and I didn’t see her clean anywhere else around me only where I was.. I think it is great to keep the building clean and being vigilant but there are professional manners to approach customer and make them feel welcome.

I used both branches in Sterling, va, and ironically had interaction, and service help in different time and requests by all of them, Brittany, Brian, and then later choosing the climate control at the large branch was helped by Douglas and Jan. They all, and each were thoroughly professional and focused never pushy, fast, but accommodating to my speed of understanding. They helped me with online signing, and touring to the storage rooms, immacutely clean, spacious, with fresh bright uplifting colors. They showed me every details on the codes, entrance, elevator, etc. using me to practice them, so patient . This was the single most relaxing break I have had during the last 6 weeks of facing flood situation at my place. I truly felt that I; a senior caught first time in this, was Blessed, because of the smooth and thorough service by the Extra Space Storage representatives. I will recommend them to everyone I know.

I was able to easily rent a unit online and electronically sign all the lease documents. Jen was very friendly and showed me to the unit and how to get around. Everything has been excellent.

I had units here for years and have always been taken well care of. Unlike Public Storage up the street who raised their prices on me every 6 months or Uhaul who don't seem to have good communication internally. The facility is always clean and the customer service is awesome here. Its great getting a real person to answer the phone AT THE LOCATION when I call! Thank you Jen and Allen!

Overall nice facility. This week was my very first experience here. The only reason I took a few stars off was because when my moving team was moving things in, the facilities manager came out and pretty rudely barked at them for holding the elevator open to load my things and bring them up to the top floor. The manager claimed that this could damage the elevator. Me and the moving team were confused - why or how could we damage an elevator that is literally *built* for moving (ie, it must be rugged or tough)? Also - how is it that there's not a way to hold a moving elevator open (surely, this is something that is required frequently - to load and unload the elevator)? And - if this is such a frail elevator, there should be clear signs posted about how to treat it kindly, right (there were no such signs or notifications in an otherwise very well designed facility with signage everywhere)? Finally - even if there was a concern, the facilities manager really could have been about 80% more polite - nobody was doing anything malicious, and it left me just a touch disappointed in the facility that my introductory experience would include such an encounter. Extra Space Storage - sorry but you left me with a bad taste in my mouth after the first 30 minutes of being in your faciilty.

Quality customer service and decent prices. The Extra Space Storage units were all very clean and new. The prices are reasonable. The store manager, PaSai, was very nice and answered all our questions. He gave us great advice on what size unit to get and the best way to move our items into the unit. My only complaint would be if sharing a unit with another person. Some communication was lost when my significant other and I parted ways. I ended up losing most of my things. It is not entirely their fault, but I wish I had known that the unit was not being paid for and was auctioned off. That way I would have either paid for the unit or retrieved my items. Thanks to a wonderful Good Samaritan - I was able to get a few of my most significant items back. At least I was introduced indirectly to a lovely person who sent me some of my items. Thank you Good Samaritan - I will be forever thankful.

New facility, clean and very well maintained. Polite and helpful staff. Jen was especially helpful, very efficient, she handled everything in an instant. I’ve maintained a storage unit around the NoVA area for about a decade and this place is by far the best!
