Extra Space Storage is proud to announce the recent completion of a property expansion at 6384 S Cottonwood St in Murray, UT. Nestled at the interchange of Salt Lake City’s I-15 and I-215, this facility is strategically positioned among family-centric residential communities along the Wasatch Front.
This Murray property isn’t new to Extra Space’s portfolio. Acquired back in 2010, it underwent its first significant expansion in 2016, leading to a notable 515 units and spanning a generous 59,781 net rentable square feet.
Fast forward to present, our latest expansion required the dismantling of six buildings adjacent to I-215 on the northern perimeter. In their place now stands a modern three-story structure that houses 230 climate-controlled units and accounts for an added 23,184 net rentable square feet. This brings the property’s total rentable square footage to an impressive number of 82,965.
Sr. Manager of Development and Asset Strategy, Danny Morris, expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “We are excited about the exposure this expansion allows Extra Space along the Wasatch front. Especially, since it is so prominent as you drive through the area.” Such expansions not only reflect our commitment to the community but also the strategic foresight of our leadership team.
A project of this magnitude is never completed alone. The guidance of both Danny Morris and John Bennett, Sr. Manager of Construction and Property Development, was instrumental.
