Extra Space Storage of Chicago, Illinois offers the strongest protection for your belongings with state-of-the-art security and climate-controlled self-storage units that prevent potential damage from harsh weather, including humidity. We are conveniently located on Montrose Avenue, right next to the 90/94 Expressway and one block east of Cicero Avenue and just two miles from Harlem and Irving Plaza (The HIP). Our facility has 943 self-storage units ranging in size from 3’x 3’ to 15’x 25’ and our knowledgeable storage specialists can help you determine the unit that fits your needs. Because we value our customers’ security, our facility has motion detection cameras providing 24-hour video surveillance, individually alarmed units, a security floor level and a manager who lives onsite. We also want to make your move easier so we’ve implemented convenient features like drive aisles wide enough for semi-trucks, moving carts for interior units, covered parking, passenger elevators, covered drive aisles and drive-up units. Our extended gate hours are longer than most other storage facilities and allow you to access your belongings when you need them. Our facility also offers a unique feature called DocuSign, an electronic lease that allows you to sign your rental agreement digitally to save you time. As part of the community, many of our customers enjoy the visiting the attractions of downtown Chicago, recreating at Portage Park, Wilson Park and Kolmar Park or watching a game at nearby Wrigley Field. Because of our proximity to North Park University, Northeastern Illinois University and Wilbur Wright College/City of Chicago Community College, many students store with us either long-term or while in transition. I really like this facility. It's clean and I feel safe going in and out. I also feel safe leaving my stuff in the storage unit. I've had my stuff in storage here for over a year and frequently come in and out to drop something off or pick something up and everything has remained safe, secure and clean.

I checked out a lot before choosing ExtraSpace, and I am happy with my choice for the most part. The facilities are always clean, well lit and the employees are always helpful and do a great job. Security seems to be good. Sometimes however if there are too many people in the facility at once, parking and getting in and out can be a challenge, but I do admit it is on rare occasion. My only issue that I am not thrilled about is the rate increases. I think they are too many and too much. At some point if my rate gets too high I will be looking to find a better deal at another competitor.

We've used ExtraSpace Storage for nearly two years, and have been very pleased with the space and the rates—and we feel comfortable storing our belongings there. We originally looked at several storage places in our area, and by far the ExtraSpace Storage facility was the cleanest, safest, and most affordable place we found with great access and secured unloading, as well as a friendly/helpful staff and good hours. This place is unbelievably nicer than the PS facilities and not much more expensive. Multiple levels of security make it hard to imagine a break in. Staff is very knowledgeable and professional. I recommend this to anyone looking for clean, safe storage.

The facility is very clean and well kept. The problem I have with company is that it's no longer a decent deal. I've been with company for 4yrs. and started paying $113.00 a month well just got a second price increase this year and will now be paying $166.00 a year.
