I rented a unit at this location for nearly three years. Everything was fine until a severe rat infestation contaminated my storage unit with rat droppings, urine, and damage to my belongings. What shocked me most wasn’t the infestation—it was how management handled it. Once the issue was reported, the friendliness disappeared. I received no apology from the manager or assistant manager, no meaningful assistance, and no sense of urgency despite the fact that I was paying hundreds of dollars each month for a unit that had become unsafe to enter. When I requested their refusal to provide assistance in writing, I was laughed at and told they would not put anything in writing. Because of the contamination, we ultimately had to wear hazmat suits and respirators just to remove our belongings from the unit. The only person who showed professionalism and helped move the situation forward was the District Manager. Unfortunately, the local office continued to demonstrate the same level of disorganization and indifference. On the day I was closing out my account, I was instructed to return later to complete paperwork because staff didn’t understand the release process that had already been discussed and approved. I returned after receiving a call that everything was ready, only to find the office closed with a “We’ll Be Back” sign on the door. After months of dealing with this situation, I was once again left waiting because of their lack of preparation. When staff finally returned, there was no apology for the inconvenience. Instead, I was treated as though I was the problem. There was attitude over details relating to the lock and move-out process, despite the fact that I was simply trying to complete the closure of an account tied to a situation their facility failed to properly address. The infestation was frustrating. The lack of empathy, accountability, communication, and basic customer service was worse. This location is very good at signing people up for storage units. My experience suggests they are far less interested in helping customers when serious problems arise. If a business shows its true character when things go wrong, this location showed me exactly who they are. I would not recommend this facility.

This situation should never have occurred, and we understand your frustration with how it was handled over the course of your nearly three-year tenancy. You are absolutely right that the lack of apology, meaningful assistance, and sense of urgency from our manager and assistant manager was inappropriate, especially given the unsafe conditions of your unit and the monthly fees you were paying. The refusal to provide written documentation of their position and the dismissive attitude you encountered are not reflective of the service standards we strive to maintain. We also apologize for the disorganization and indifference that continued throughout this process, including the confusion with your account closure paperwork and leaving you waiting when the office was unexpectedly closed with just a sign on the door. There is no excuse for the lack of preparation and the attitude you experienced during what should have been a straightforward move-out process. While we are glad our District Manager was able to provide some level of professionalism and assistance, we recognize that the local office's handling of your situation fell far short of acceptable customer service standards.
