I was trapped in a battle of wits against a highly complicated gate and locking mechanism. When my phone stubbornly displayed an "out of range" error trying to exit, I went down a rabbit hole assuming it was a complex Wi-Fi or Bluetooth failure. Stephen swooped in and completely demystified the process. He patiently explained that it wasn't wireless, Bluetooth, or even a metal detector—it was simply a sensor measuring the physical presence of a person. What truly sets Stephen apart is his communication. I am a research scientist at the Naval Research Lab, but I had to readily admit to Stephen that I was completely out of my depth.
