Brooke Bentley, Senior Director of Product Operations at Extra Space Storage, is celebrating 25 years with the company. Since joining in June 2000, Brooke has been at the heart of many of Extra Space's most important technology advancements. As an early member of the company's technology team, he was excited to help modernize an industry that was still in its early stages of digital transformation. From day one, Brooke approached his role with curiosity, energy, and a determination to explore what was possible in self storage.

I had the honor of hiring Brooke when we were just building a team to transform what technology would look like at Extra Space, and I am so fortunate to work with him again, 25 years later, said James Hafen, Senior Vice President of Product Development. Brooke is one of the most dedicated people I've ever worked with. His work ethic is second to none, and he and his team perform mission-critical tasks that often go unnoticed and unrecognized. Few in the organization possess Brooke's expansive knowledge of our digital ecosystem.

Brooke began his career at Extra Space as a Junior Programmer and steadily advanced through several key roles, including Senior Programmer, Director of Application Development, Senior Director of IT, and now Senior Director of Product Operations. Throughout his tenure, he has played a key role in building and evolving the technology that powers both the employee and customer experience. From internal systems that support daily operations to customer-facing tools like the mobile app, digital access features, and self-service kiosks, Brooke’s contributions have helped shape the way people interact with Extra Space Storage every day.

In 2005, Brooke was honored with the Lynne Lybbert Award, the highest individual recognition given annually at Extra Space Storage. The award celebrates one employee each year who has made a measurable impact on the company while exemplifying our core values of Integrity, Teamwork, Passion, Innovation, and Excellence.

He credits his long-term success to a culture that supports continuous learning and personal growth. "Being able to learn, adapt, and implement new ideas has been incredibly rewarding," Brooke reflects. "The challenges I face today are rarely the same ones I'll tackle next week, and that's what keeps it exciting. I love that my team plays a key role in identifying opportunities that help drive the company toward its goals."

While Brooke's impact is most visible in Extra Space's technology, it's the relationships he has built that stand out to him the most. He fondly recalls team experiences like pick-up basketball games, curling matches, and rounds of golf with colleagues—moments that speak to the connection and camaraderie that have shaped his career.

Brooke is the epitome of trust and integrity and lives our values every single day, added James Hafen. I’m proud to celebrate 25 years with him and even more proud to call him a friend.

Congratulations, Brooke, on this incredible milestone!
