Celebrating 25 and 30 Years with Six Extra Space Storage Team Members

Extra Space Storage proudly recognizes six incredible team members for their remarkable dedication—five celebrating 25 years and two reaching an impressive 30-year milestone. From store managers to district leaders, these individuals have helped shape our growth, culture, and customer experience. Among this group, we're delighted to honor Melissa and Raymond Tarin, a husband-and-wife duo who began their Extra Space journey together on the very same day 25 years ago.

Bill Benner, Sr. District Manager

Bill joined Storage USA in 2000 as a District Manager, later joining the Extra Space team with the 2005 acquisition. Over his 25-year tenure, he has witnessed tremendous growth in the New York metro area and has become known for his passion for mentoring and developing teams.

"Bill has been an integral part of a team that has grown leaps and bounds. We have seen the New York metro area grow from two districts all the way up to the current nine. Bill has been a part of all of those districts coming on board. I have been lucky to have Bill as my Sr. District Manager for all 12 years that I have been a District Vice President. Bill has an infectious exuberance for mentoring, leading others, and helping to develop other District Managers across the country. His peers are always reaching out for his wealth of knowledge, and his team loves to work for him. Nellie DeLosSantos, Store Manager

Nellie started her self storage career 25 years ago with Storage USA, officially joining the Extra Space Storage team in 2005. She has become a familiar face in her community and takes pride in building lasting relationships with customers. Throughout the years, Nellie has embraced opportunities to mentor new Assistant Managers and Store Managers, sharing her extensive knowledge and experience.

Melissa Tarin, Store Manager

Melissa's journey with Extra Space began in December of 2000, marking the start of a quarter-century of dedicated service alongside her husband, Ray. She has held roles as both Assistant Manager and Store Manager and is known for her commitment to excellence and passion for coaching and mentoring team members. Melissa finds her greatest satisfaction in the daily acts of kindness she can offer to customers.

Raymond Tarin, Assistant Manager

Ray's Extra Space journey began on the same day as his wife, Melissa. Throughout his 25-year tenure, Ray has held roles as both Assistant Store Manager and Store Manager. He takes great pride in the condition of his property and is known for his positive attitude and ability to work independently. Ray values the trust placed in him and enjoys the constant learning opportunities the company provides.

Richelle Harding, Store Manager

Richelle has dedicated three decades to Extra Space Storage, consistently bringing positivity and dedication to her role. Known for her unwavering teamwork and ability to work through challenges with a smile, Richelle has become an invaluable member of her district.

"I have worked with Richelle as her District Learning Manager for three years and now for the past five months as her District Manager. One thing that has always remained constant with Richelle is her positivity in any situation. Her store is not without its challenges, but she works through them with a smile. Frank Almarez, District Manager

Frank has spent 30 years embodying what it means to be part of Extra Space Storage. Known for his dedication, passion, and ability to bring fun to the workplace, Frank has influenced countless team members throughout the organization. His expertise and commitment to our core values have helped shape Extra Space into the company it is today.
