Celebrating 25 Years with Tina Uribe

We're thrilled to celebrate Tina Uribe and her 25 years of service with Extra Space Storage. As a Senior District Manager, Tina has built a remarkable career defined by her dedication to developing people, championing company culture, and transforming challenges into opportunities for growth.

Tina's journey at Extra Space began when she made a deliberate choice to transition out of retail. She was planning to start a family and wanted to be truly present at home, and the opportunity at Extra Space provided exactly what her family needed. Starting as an Assistant Store Manager, Tina steadily advanced through roles that showcased her leadership abilities. She was promoted to Store Manager early on, then to District Team Lead, District Learning Manager, District Manager, and is now Senior District Manager. Each step along the way revealed her natural gift for developing talent and building strong teams.

"Tina has played a key role in the development, success, and advancement of those she has supervised, leaving an enduring legacy within the Florida Extra Space team," shared District Vice President Tim Campbell. "Tina has been the bond that holds our division together and has been a true champion of our culture. Her positive influence extends beyond the Extra Space family, impacting ownership groups, vendors, and customers. Anyone connected to the self storage industry in South Florida is familiar with her expertise and spirit of collaboration."

What sets Tina apart is her commitment to the people she leads. Her favorite part of her career, hands down, is her team of Store Managers and District Team Leads. Over the past 25 years, she has had the privilege of working with countless incredible people who have taught her so much, and she takes pride in being part of their journey.

"I always tell my managers that whether they choose to build their career at Extra Space or move on to a different path, they will leave stronger and better than when they started with us," Tina reflects. Many former employees have reached out to share that they've never had the same experience anywhere else as they did at Extra Space, and that makes her proud to know she played a role in making their time meaningful and memorable.

Tina's impact extends beyond people development. Over the past five years, she managed a group of eight joint venture stores that were in rough shape, where the locations, product, and staffing presented constant challenges. She devoted time and energy to bringing these stores up to Extra Space's brand standards. By hiring the best managers and working closely with her support partners, Tina transformed them into productive and profitable locations. When Extra Space purchased these sites this year, it served as a testament to the hard work and dedication she and her team invested.

From the early days when Extra Space had fewer than 20 stores, Tina believed in the company's vision, even when others doubted it. She always knew the company would grow into a major player, and what makes her most proud is that through all the growth, Extra Space has continued to maintain its strong culture.

"I've spent almost half of my life at Extra Space, and it has truly become part of who I am," Tina shares. "This company has given my children and me the opportunity for a good life, and I'm proud that they've seen firsthand how hard work and determination can create a legacy and make a meaningful impact on others."

Tina's fondest memories are the relationships and friendships she has made throughout the years, and the incredible mentors who have guided her along the way. Their support has meant the world to her, and she truly wouldn't be where she is today without them.

The greatest lesson Tina has learned is to embrace adaptability. What she loves most about Extra Space is that it gives people the chance to continually grow, reinvent themselves, and find new ways to make an impact no matter how long they've been here. "When you stay passionate and genuinely love what you do, it's truly magic," she reflects.
