Extra Space Storage Opens Two New Locations in Southern Texas

Extra Space Storage is thrilled to announce the opening of two brand-new facilities in southern Texas! With locations in Weslaco and New Braunfels, these sites add more than 1,700 climate-controlled units to our growing regional presence.

Extra Space Storage is proud to announce the opening of two new facilities in southern Texas, further expanding our footprint in this vibrant, fast-growing region.

Located at 1115 Dragonfly Ave in Weslaco, TX, the first facility offers 773 units and 86,975 net rentable square feet. This site features climate-controlled units and a wide range of unit sizes, providing flexible storage solutions tailored to the needs of the local community.

"Our newest Extra Space Storage location in Weslaco, TX is officially open, and local hero and Store Manager Juan Huerta is leading the way," said Julia Esparza, District Manager in Weslaco. "Juan is born and raised in the area, and he's excited to give back to the community that raised him through providing exceptional customer service and support!"

The second new facility is located at 982 Interstate 35 N in New Braunfels, TX. This location adds an impressive 943 units and 102,068 net rentable square feet to our portfolio. Like the Weslaco facility, it includes climate-controlled units and a wide range of sizes to accommodate residential and business storage needs.

These new stores are part of our growing partnership with Bakke Development Corporation, a San Antonio-based real estate developer with a strong track record across Texas. Since 1996, Bakke Development has specialized in mixed-use land development, including multifamily housing, retail centers, and self storage facilities.
