Updated 06/15/2026 I have finally clawed my way out of Extra Space, closed my account, and moved out, and I cannot describe how much safer I feel no longer being their hostage. I will never do business with this company again under any circumstances. They did comment on my review and slipped a $40 credit onto my account on my way out the door, an obvious attempt to save face. Too little, far too late, and frankly insulting given what they extracted from me. They love to brag that their short-term policy benefits everyone because there are no long-term contracts. So define long-term. Two months? Six? A year? They jacked my rate to more than I could afford within a few months of moving in, which is the entire point. The model is simple: overcharge you once you’re settled, betting you won’t go through the misery of renting another truck, finding another unit, and hauling everything out and back in again. They are holding your belongings for ransom and counting on your exhaustion to collect. If you’d rather not gamble your possessions on a corporation’s goodwill, don’t rent from Extra Space. Not here. Not anywhere. This is not a rogue location. It is corporate-driven greed, top to bottom, and no surprise that even the Redondo Beach staff couldn’t muster much concern or gratitude for my business. I cannot say this plainly enough: Buyer Beware. Do not store your valuables or hand a dollar to this facility or any Extra Space. They live down to every shady stereotype the moving and storage industry has earned. Just remember the only “EXTRA” you’ll ever get here is extra charges. I am reporting this to the BBB as well.
