I rented a unit here in 2024 when it was still Santa Rosa Self Storage because I didn’t want to rent from a large corporation. In late 2024, Extra Space Storage took over. They improved the customer portal and app but also raised rates significantly. Sean (or Shawn) has kept the business feeling personal and genuinely cares about customers. When a mouse died in a bucket in my unit, he cheerfully came to dispose of it. Every question or issue I’ve had has been met with his friendly and helpful attitude. One downside is the increase in rodents. They used to use in-unit bait packets that kept my unit mostly rodent-free. Since a corporate change in pest control policies, I’m finding droppings inside my unit and all over my belongings. I wish they'd go back to what was working before. Despite this, I plan to keep a unit here for seasonal item storage. Sean and the team go out of their way to make customers feel welcome and supported. That keeps me loyal to staying.
