Be aware whenever you see a 4.5 or almost 5 ?? ratings. Things aren't always as they seem. I am a New Yorker down on my luck and decided to relocate. I figure connecticuit was close enough. When I saw the almost 5 ?? ratings I immediately googled where I was going and called and reserve a storage unit. My dad was in hospice we thought he would do well to come home. Unfortunately he took his last breath 5 days ago. I book the storage on the 8.12.26 and call in to enquire about a refund 8.13.26. The store manager who seems to be spanish, was very apologetic in the begining. When I asked about a refund, without hesitating, he told me one would be given. I asked if it would be the entire amount and he said yes. I also asked him how long it would take, and he told me as soon as my bank releases the funds. I thanked him immediately. I asked about a reference number to the refund and he promise me he would email me 10 minutes later, with the email confirming the refund would be honored. I got distracted and when I finally went through my email, it said nothing about a refund. I actually received an email that said I moved out of my storage. I was confused because a refund and me moving out, doesnt mean the same thing. When I called my bank they told me there was nothing pending in their system or any refund received. I immediately tried calling extra space storage about my refund. This was when I was told different things. 1. To call the storage manager. 2. The refund was pending, waiting on the district manager to sign off. He NEVER mentioned getting an approval from anybody. Had he told me this I would have understood. Lets just say about 10 phonecalls later speaking to about 6 different agents wasting about 4 hours on the phone, I am yet to receive my refund. Also as it stands, they officially took back possession of the unit. So it would seem, extra space storage is holding unto my refund and denying me access to the storage space I rented. THIS IS MY TRUE HONEST EXPERIENCE DEALING WITH EXTRA STORAGE BRIGEPORT CT. EDIT: I saw a pending refund from extra storage in my cash app account. Will update when return is cleared by my bank.
