Extra Space Storage's auto-pay system failed several times, charging me unfair late fees. I even spoke with Heather on the phone previously and she ensured me auto pay was set up. Heather also said she'd apply a promo credit and told me not to pay manually that month. I followed her advice—then got hit with another late fee the next month because auto-pay still didn't work. Called back, spoke to Heather again: rude, dismissive attitude. She refused to waive excessive fees (caused by THEIR system errors and her bad advice), said the promo was rejected with no explanation, threatened to lock my unit, and hung up on me. Unprofessional, predatory practices. Their payment system is unreliable, yet they punish customers instead of fixing it. Terrible customer service—avoid this place if you want fair treatment.
