I signed up because of the cheap first-month rate. What they don't tell you upfront is that after the first month, the rent jumps way up—mine went to roughly triple. And you have no way of knowing the new number when you sign, because they only notify you of the increase by letter. Nobody at the counter will tell you what month two costs, because that's the whole play: get you in with a low price, then raise it once your stuff is already inside and moving out is a hassle. On top of that, when I signed up the guy in the office specifically told me that if I moved out early, I'd get a refund for the unused time. I called today to confirm, and the call center told me the exact opposite—no proration, no refund, nothing. So either their staff is trained to say whatever gets you to sign, or the departments contradict each other. Either way, what I was told at signing simply wasn't true. If you're considering this place, assume your rent will spike after 30 days, and don't trust any verbal promise about refunds unless it's written into the contract. I won't be signing again.
