Extra space storage is a scam. My rental started at $60. A couple months later it went to $90. It was $90 for a couple of months….. then I get a notice that it’s going up to $176. It’s absolutely ridiculous how it doubles in price…

changed my review from 4 stars to 2. I’ve had a storage unit here since may 2026 for a pretty great deal, I did end up getting an email that starting September 2026 my rental rate would double which was not explained to me and was not in the contract either. I was not aware about deals expiring 4-6 months later.. but when I called and spoke with Elsa she was incredibly helpful and was able to help get me a lower rate that fits within budget, *UPDATE* I was supposed to be charged $91 per month until September 2026 Elsa said she would update my account. And starting September the amount would be $132 +$11 for insurance. Today 8/4/2026 I was just charged the full amount of $143 and my balance is supposed to be $80 + $11 for Insurance until September. Tried calling the office twice today with no response and customer service isn’t able to do anything besides let them know of the error the guy said that Elsa had put in the new offer incorrectly and apologized and to try to call the office again to get a refund but they are now closed. If you use this company please make sure they are very clear with when the promotion ends and have them send you confirmation in writing of changes and that it is correct. Do not use auto pay unless everything is in writing and everyone is on the same page.
