Extra Space Storage of Hayward, California offers a wide variety of storage options for students, business and residential customers so you can store anything from a few boxes, to a room full of furniture, to an RV. We are conveniently located on Mission Boulevard, one of the major through streets of Haywood. Built in the late 1970s, this Extra Space location used to be a baseball field and is now surrounded by historical sites like the Hayward Plunge. Because of our proximity to California State East Bay University, many of our customers are students and professors who need either long-term storage or an affordable alternative for storing belongings in between semesters. Right off of the Wild Life Regional Coastline, Hayward offers a lot of hiking and wildlife activities for residents. To facilitate this, we provide ample 10’x 30’ outdoor parking for RVs, boats and cars as well as more than 1,600 self-storage units ranging in size from 3’x 4’ to 19’x 22’; our storage specialists can help you determine the unit that fits your storage needs. We value the security of our customers’ goods. Our facility features motion detection cameras providing 24-hour video surveillance and a manager who lives onsite. We also have convenient features like drive aisles wide enough for semi-trucks and off street parking so moving in and out is easy. Our extended gate hours, from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., are longer than other storage facilities and allow you to access your belongings when you need them. Our facility also offers a unique feature called DocuSign that allows you to sign your rental agreement digitally, an easier and more convenient method. I showed up right at closing time one Friday, and didn't receive any attitude from the staff member as she effectively helped me with my business managing my account. They also gave me a personalized phone call when my rent was due. Facilities are fine, but the customer service is what makes this storage location a winner!

Appears clean and organized...I do question sometimes the safety of my things and the condition of the door to my storage unit and I think it's maybe because I'm not familiar with the area too much...but it's overall appearance is good and satisfactory. Location is convenient and I got a good deal for my unit. I'm overall happy with the facility.

last visit to drop off stuff to put into storage (2 weeks ago) their security lighting on the outside of the entire building was off, making it very hard to see in the dark to off load. Then, not one cart could be located to load my stuff on to the elavator , also, I went thru the entire building looking for a cart, had to put all things indivually on the elavator, raise to second level, then carry off each item to my storage locker, was not a happy camper !! Thank GOD I went instead of my wife, or else, all of that stuff would still be in the back of my truck.

I've been a customer for awhile and I haven't had any real issues with my storage unit. The light is out in my unit but it just needs a new builb. There was an issue with what looked like termite eggs that came from the walls and I have cardboard boxes and some paper items that was of some concern but plastic containers fixed that. I'd prefer the monthly charge not to go up every 6 months but I guess that's the economy. I've had problems with other renters parking and blocking the entrance to my unit but I guess that's just how the rows are. Overall I've had a good experience with my storage unit/rental.

Have used this facility over the years, and always come back if storage is needed.

I've had a storage space at this location for a few years already and I like everythign about it. The size of the unit that i have is perfect, the location is always clean. They have lots of security cameras and motion sensor lights that I really like, it makes me feel safe when i go into my storage at night. The price for my unit is also very afordable. Love it!
