Extra Space Storage of Staten Island, New York makes moving in and out simpler by providing loading docks to protect belongings from harsh weather while loading and unloading. We are located on Richmond Terrace between Harbor Road and South Avenue, not far from Mersereau Avenue. Our facility has 922 self-storage units ranging in size from 5’x 5’ to 12’x 34.5,’ some of which are climate-controlled for sensitive items. Our knowledgeable storage specialists can help you determine the unit that fits your needs. Because we value our customers’ security, our facility has motion detection cameras providing 24-hour video surveillance, individual access codes, security alarms and daily lock checks. And to make your move easier, we offer extended access hours from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and convenient features like roll-up doors and moving carts for interior units. Our facility also has DocuSign, an electronic lease that you sign digitally to save time. As part of the community, many of our customers enjoy spending time in Manhattan, at Mariners Marsh Park, Goethals Pond, Bridge Creek and Old Place Creek Tidal Wetlands. We have successfully served the communities of Mariners Harbor, Port Richmond, Travis, New Jersey and Brooklyn since 2012. We also serve students at nearby Saint John’s University and Wagner College. It would be helpful for both the company and customers if payments could be made online for chosen amounts, rather than the amount specified only, as well as not having the option to pay online if rent is late for any unusual reason. It is currently not possible to pay any less than one month's rent in full if one wished to pay in part or more frequently than once a month. And it's a significant inconvenience for one to have to go to the facility to pay in person if the balance is one day over due from one month.

I know alot of people were affected by Hurricane Sandy and i am no exception. Still i received a notice that my particular facility would be off limits due to sandys arrival and i also received notice that payment on my unit was due. Now i know that sandy did alot of damage in my area but i didn't receive any notice that my facility would be off limits to this day. There is another storm approaching the northeast and i am not prpared due to items that i have in my storage unit are unattainable. If there was a noticed before hand i may have been able to be more prepared for this upcoming storm. A little notice would have been greatly appreciated.
