When shopping for a long term storage solution I had a number of concerns: security, cleanliness, convenience and cost. I started on Google and was surprised that monthly rates varied by over $100 a month for similarly advertised units. I made a non-binding reservation with Extra Space Storage on Ruthrauff. Donna called me immediately and asked if she could be of service. I made an on-site visit a week later to visit with Donna. She gave a facility tour. What first struck me is that the building was cool and clean. I’ve been in dirtier hospitals. What was ever a bigger shock was how huge the facility was which is hard to see from the street. It looks like some well lit government facility where in the movies all the secrets can be found if you can find the proper aisle. We then went to the office to discuss price. Donna was full disclosure. My goal was to rent a unit that I would keep for years and I had opted for a web-based price for those looking to store stuff for a couple of months. We agreed it made sense to lock in at a slightly higher price that would save me for the years to come. We then talked a bit more about her responsibilities as manager. Donna shared she worked in security for a mine for 15 years. I asked who kept the storage facility so clean she said I do. I signed a contract with Donna. I feel my possessions will be safe and secure in a clean facility with a manager, Donna, who knows all about security and whose standards for cleanliness are unmatched. I’m also happy to say I have all this piece of mind at a rate $100 less a month than a competitor with a similar facility. It is worth shopping around and meeting the folks who will be caring for your valuables. Keep up the good work Extra Space Storage and rest assured you have the right manager in Donna overseeing your excellent facility.
