I have used Extra Space Storage a lot in my lifetime and can honestly say of all the locations I have been to this is the worst one. Do not use this facility unless you have nothing worth losing. Military folks, just use the on base facility or choose one that's a further drive away, the short commute is not worth the risk, speaking from experience. I personally had my unit targeted and they stole over 15k worth of my items. This went unchallenged as there are no cameras or security. The police refused to do anything because of the lack of evidence and the perpetrators essentially made it out without a hassle. Even taking time to go through my property while inside the unit. It took potentially several days before the break in was identified by myself and my wife because the staff did not do regular checks for forced entry. Our first red flag should have been when my wife was attempting to add items to the facility a homeless man graciously offered to unlock the gate for her and proceeded to attempt to follow her into the facility to which she promptly left deciding to come back later. Our second red flag was when we entered the facility and could hear voices in one of the units and the smell of what was obviously them smoking dome sort of illegal substance that overtook the interior of the facility (it was 100% not Cigarettes or Marijuana). The Bad: -No Cameras or regular security checks -Homeless people and former tenants have ongoing access to coded areas -Break ins happen relatively frequently. -If break ins occur nothing will be done to assist with the stolen items except the Insurance policy which requires fighting with Insurance companies to validate claims. -Calling the emergency or after hours numbers yielded no results, it took attempting to make a mock booking in the facility to get ahold of any live assistance. Meaning my wife and I had to remain at the facility until the gate was locked for the night to ensure our remaining items weren't stolen. The whole ordeal took over 5 hours including waiting for closing. The Good: -The manager was friendly and responded appropriately to our issue, after we made contact. He was helpful and genuinely tried to remedy the situation to the best of his ability. -The facility upholds (outdated) similar practices you can expect from all Extra Space Facilities with gated entry ways, locked doors, and generally helpful staff. Final remarks: If anyone at Extra Space Reads this review I highly recommend you sell this facility to a local business owner and wipe your hands clean of the stigma associated with it. I have had too many good experiences with your Facilities for your reputation to be ruined by one bad egg and given the rate at which crime occurs at or near the facility the juice (while enriching) is not worth the squeeze at this location.
