What I do expect is basic fairness—and that’s where this company completely falls apart. I’ve been a loyal customer for years, and in return I get blindsided with absurd, arbitrary price hikes. My monthly rate jumped from $175 to $275 overnight. Overnight. No added value. No improvements. No explanation beyond a smug, rehearsed script. When I called to ask how this was justified, the employee literally said, “It’s month-to-month, so we’re allowed to raise it however much we want.” That’s not a business model—that’s extortion with a customer service headset. I even asked if their paycheck went up by that much. They laughed and said they wouldn’t be working there if it did. At least they were honest. In what other industry does this happen? Inflation exists—fine. But Fruit Loops didn’t go from $3 to $6 in one month at Publix. Interest rates are going down, not up. There is zero economic rationale for this madness. This company knows exactly what it’s doing: holding people’s possessions hostage and daring them to move. They count on inconvenience, emotional attachment, and lack of alternatives to squeeze customers for every last dollar. It’s predatory, plain and simple.
