This facility has a rodent infestation in their outdoor units that they are well aware of and do not disclose until you discover rat droppings on your possessions. When we reported the issue to the employee in the front office, he said that he was aware and that the issue was from another renter that stored food in their outdoor units. Who in the world stores food in outdoor storage units in Florida during the summer? I don’t buy it. I spoke to a few other folks that were out in about in their storage facility and they said that they were aware of the mice and that they were told the same story the food being left in storage. Both gentlemen that I spoke to said that this issue has been going on for years. They just don’t tell you anything. I did not have any insurance on my outdoor unit and when I asked for a refund of the previous month or at least the use of an outdoor space to park my husband’s classic car, we were told no. We moved out immediately and they tried to pretend that prorating the month of our move out was favor, but this was not a favor, it was what was due to us. My next contact will be Code Enforcement. I would not recommend renting here. If you dont believe me, look for the rat droppings in the units. PS, after we complained about the mice, they put traps in our unit and on the last day, there was a mouse in the trap. Updated 6/28. @2:30 PM In response to my post, the “Owner” told me to call the number that goes to the front office of the Extra Storage Facility. Whoever the owner is, you are not serious about addressing the rodent issues. You provided a number that I already had to speak with the very person that did not help me. I want people to know about my experience and what could potentially be their experience if they rent an outdoor unit. Rodents are dangerous and carry many diseases. Whatever measures you are currently taking are clearly not working, based on the mouse that was in the trap yesterday 6/27. I encourage everyone that is renting an outdoor unit to please check for rodent droppings. I encourage you as an owner to fully disclose the risk present at your property. If you would like to have a meaningful conversation about my experience and the damage that mice did to my husbands classic car, please contact Jason, your employee. He can give you my direct number. I look forward to hearing from you. One last note, all of the reviews regarding the price increase are true. The price increases every few months and eventually, our price doubled since we started renting. However, I would rather deal with a price increase than mice. Also, full transparency, I have never had an issues with my indoor unit and I have not noticed any signs of bugs or rodents. The issue exists in the outdoor units. Consumers have rights and business owners have obligations to their customers. As a business owner, since you are aware of this issue, you should inform your customers to mitigate their loses.
