My grandmother rented a unit here for 10 years while it was Mini Storage Depot. Over that time, the rate crept up gradually from small increases every few months, frustrating but manageable and expected. After the ownership change to Extra Space Storage, they attempted to raise her rent from $210 to $310 in a single increase, when new customers can rent the same size unit for $150 on their own website. So, a loyal tenant of 10 years was being asked to pay more than double what a new customer would pay. I found this to be a very predatory practice targeting the elderly. We closed the unit the first weekend after we got the notice.
