Signing up for unit online and making a change when I was moving in went very smoothly. The storage space is clean and the staff is friendly and helpful. There was an issue with the rolling carts, or rather, cart. When I was moving in, there was only one cart available to be shared between all buildings. You had to hope it was in your building AND not already in use. If it was in another building, it was inaccessible without an employee. Saturday evening, before my big moving day, I made a point to speak with the person working the desk. She said that she would absolutely make sure it was placed in my building at the end of her shift, and hopefully it would be there Sunday morning when I needed it. When we showed up Sunday, moving truck and all, it was in the same exact spot from the night before, the building right next door, and inaccessible. Moving is already difficult, as we all know. I did complain about this, and shortly after, more carts showed up. Since then, I have had a few other issues. The two most significant: 1. I moved in in December. By May, they upped the rate by 84%. Very close to double. I called and they adjusted it back, close to what it was. They say that if it happens again, I must call in to haggle. So, no long-term loyalty or ability to lock in a rate. 2. I am paying for a climate controlled unit, on the inside, and yet, as summer is hitting I am noticing that my things are beginning to grow mold. I have just started a claim with the insurance, but I have no idea how that will go. MOLD. In addition: -There has been plenty of evidence of mice. -The people working the front desk have sometimes been quite pleasant and helpful, and have sometimes been straight up rude (this was one person whom I encountered on a couple of different occasions). -On a recent trip in the evening (no help available), I was able to get into the gate, but no door in my building would open. I needed an item that night. On other occasions, the locks on a door were not working at all and were open for anyone. (Each time I inform them of this, they do fix it) -On another recent trip, the fire alarms were blaring and it was absolutely deafening. I ran in and out as fast as I could. Moving on that day would have been impossible. I noticed people working on another building, which was maybe the cause. There was no notice given. While I have had fairly easy access most of the time, and while some of the people I have dealt with have been wonderful, there have been some issues, and I have never been offered anything to make up for the difficulties. The mold is a big issue for me. Especially considering that we are just at the beginning of summer. I've only been able to go through a small portion of my items. Who knows how much I was have to throw out. I am a little afraid to look at my photographs. The insurance (if I get anything from it) cannot replace those.
