The previous 2 reviews are not truthful I was in the office when the manager was dealing with that rude customer over the phone. I could hear her screaming to the manager thru the phone - all because her lease wasn't compliant with company policy. They were trying to fix something that is clearly stated in the lease. Unfortunately the previous staff overlooked. Clearly the age of entitlement is alive and well and everyone loves to play the victim card. Next time don't try to be sneaky manipulative customer and you won't get caught. All you need to do is look at her reviews - clearly out to take advantage and bash different companies and their employees looking for a quick hand out. How can anyone like that be taken seriously. Maybe treat people with respect and youll get respect. By the way this place is great and Kevin and Joy do an awesome job, don't let the words of a con-woman sway you from this location. Thanks Kevin & Joy, sorry you had to endure what you did.

RUN from this location! New management is horrible. I have been a long-time customer of extra space (multiple locations) due to ease of service and the previous staff being so customer focused. I never had any issues until now. After calling in for the first time ever, to get assistance from the new staff with my payment method I had so much difficulty with the new management team. Specifically, the new manager (kevin) was extremely rude in our dealings and he blatantly told me that he wasnt going to understand me/where i was coming from because we have different perspectives. Like what? Im pretty sure the job entails some customer service skills… like empathy. After our phone conversation he began sending threatening email(s) to me that he was not renewing my lease unless I emailed a photo of my ID because i supposedly dont have my Id on file, which i did provide the number at commencement of my original leases (years before he arrived) and a physical copy is NOT REQUIRED to be emailed. I also called and told the assistant manager, Joy, that it should be on file but possibly attached to my old unit number. How does a phone call about payment method turn into someone else’s phone # being entered into my account without my authorization, my ID number mysteriously no longer being on file, then a threatening email? Ill tell ya..I told him what career field i was in and how that causes me to miss phone calls/voicemails, encouraging the staff to send emails for quickest response so that i can call in between work. When i told him this about my job his toned shifted and he got even more stern with me. Since then, I received the threatening email and so it seems he has disguised following “policy” for abusing what little authority he has because he simply does not like me or my job. I feel that im being discriminated against and will be removing my stuff from this facility and will be following complaints with NJ Division of Consumer Affairs, BBB, and Extra Space Corporate Office. He is bad for business and in my experiences with him he is attempting to abuse what little athority he has over people. Using intimidation and threats to force me into emailing sensitive info is extremely unprofessional and unethical. I was not given the option to come in person or confirm my ID number by phone.

I used this storage facility for years, with no issues. I was well taken care of and was provided exceptional customer service by Ryan and Cindy. Because of the great service, understanding, and ease of dealing with the previous staff, i kept my stuff stored here even though l moved and didnt necessarily need the extra space anymore. Fast forward to now. Dealing with the new assistant manager, Joy and new store manager Kevin has been an absolute headache. Although Joy was professional, she didn’t listen to me very well causing incorrect notes to be placed on my account. Kevin was unprofessional and curt, seeming to not have any care or empathy for people. My time is coming to an end with Extra Spaces, especially this location.

We sincerely apologize for the frustrating experience you've had with Kevin and Joy. We truly value your long-term loyalty and are sorry your recent interactions have not met the high standards set by Ryan and Cindy. The miscommunication that led to incorrect notes on your account, along with the unprofessional experience with Kevin, are matters we take very seriously.
