Called, reserved a unit with an employee over the phone. He was not only kind but able to get me a closer storage unit to where I will be living. Purchased a storage unit and started moving stuff in it. This happened all in one day! THANKS !’ Now it’s been a little over three months and when the rate went up, Michelle in ABQ. I’ve honestly had a great experience with Extra Space Storage from a service standpoint. The facility is always clean, secure, and professionally maintained, and the staff has consistently been friendly and helpful. That said, the pricing has become extremely difficult to justify. My rate has gone from $245/month to $365/month in just 14 months, which is nearly a 50% increase. At that point, loyalty becomes hard to maintain. After shopping around locally, I found the U-Haul on San Mateo is literally about $125 less per month for a comparable unit, and RightSpace on Pan American is roughly $100 less for a 10x30 unit. I hate to move because the experience itself has been very good, but the pricing has simply become unreasonable.
