WARNING: Dishonest Bait-and-Switch (Lied About Pricing) ?I am writing this to warn anyone considering Extra Space Storage at 435 Tompkins Ave. They completely lied to us regarding their pricing. When we signed up, we explicitly asked about future rate increases. I spoke to Kenny over the phone, and later verified it with Frank in person. We were told—repeatedly and clearly by both of them—that our monthly rate would not go up because of the ongoing promotional deal we secured, as long as we kept our items in the unit. ?It was a total lie. We just received a notice stating our rate is skyrocketing by an extra $80 a month! ?They waited until our belongings were completely moved in and we were settled before pulling this fraudulent tactic. It is a classic, dishonest bait-and-switch. We specifically spoke to staff about this to prevent this exact scenario, and they assured us our rate was locked for as long as our items are stored in the facility. ?Do not trust Kenny, Frank, or their "deals." Once they have your things, they will jack up the price and force you into a corner. Save yourself the stress and find a storage facility that operates with actual integrity. Highly do not recommend.
