Extra Space Storage has one of the most deceptive pricing strategies I've ever experienced. They lure you in with an attractive, low monthly rate, only to continuously jack up the price once you've moved all your belongings in. Over the course of just two years, my monthly rent increased by an outrageous 600%! That's not a reasonable rent adjustment, that's price gouging! They know that once your belongings are in storage, moving everything to another facility is a massive inconvenience. In my opinion, they exploit that situation by repeatedly raising your rent, betting that you'll keep paying rather than deal with the hassle of moving. Don't be fooled by their advertised rates. That cheap monthly price is just the hook. What you end up paying down the road can be astronomically higher. I've never experienced such aggressive price increases from any company. Do yourself a favor and find a storage facility that values long-term customers instead of taking advantage of them.
