Nikita was outstanding. I had a unique situation and she could have easily said this is cut and dry and good luck but she took the time to work through it with me even coordinating with an out of state location to make the rental process work for me. Just incredible service which seems all the more rare these days.

My name is Ted and I just went to the storage unit from ExtraSpace storage in Johnston, Rhode Island.My name is Ted and just rented a storage unit, The woman who helped me is named Mandy and she was pleasant knowledgeable, and got me in and out quickly. The facility is clean organized, and I couldn’t believe how low the price was on the monthly rate. I would recommend extra space storage to anyone who needs extra space to store anything.

My experience was smooth and efficient. I stored items for a few months while in between homes. Mandi is easy to work with, explains the procedures, fees, and move out process very clearly. I always enjoyed my conversation withs her.

My over all experience with extra space was a roller coaster. Great initial promotional rate but, no one told me about the increases. After 3 months rates went up and kept going up every 3 months. The noticed came by mail about 30 days prior to the increase. Some storage units allow you to pay 6months in advance and even up to a year. That will lock in your rate!

The unit and location is fine. However, the trick they play on you is simple. You find a nice cheap unit (like I did) at around $40 a month. 3 months later, with NO warning, they jack the rates to $120. Then they tell you "oh you signed up at the special rate. That was only good for three months." Never got notice NOR was that made aware upfront. They just get you to fill a unit KNOWING in three months your choices are either suck it up and pay or take even MORE time out of your work and family schedule to move all your stuff back out. They KNOW most cases people will just piss and moan but in the end....pay the ridiculous new rate. Beat them at their own game. Before month 3, go BACK online and rent a cheaper unit. DONT TRY TO DO A UNIT TRANSFER BECAUSE THEY WILL TELL YOU (IN A PRETTY MISERABLE WAY MIND YOU) THAT THEY CANT HONOR THE INTERNET PRICE ON A TRANSFER. I had to learn that the hard way. So I waited until the next month, downsized my $120 unit back to a $33 unit of the same size mind you and then canceled my $120 unit. I did this a few times and you can too.
