To be clear, these 5 stars are for Travis who is awesome, overall I’d say 3 stars. I’ll be honest, I really did not want to rent from Extra Space Storage after a previous experience helping my fiancé move into his unit. The lift was broken, nobody answered when we called for help, and when he finally received a call back, days later, the employee insinuated he was lying about it not working. We literally have a video of the lift not working. Not exactly a great first impression! Unfortunately (or fortunately, as it turns out), this location is the closest to my house, so I decided to give them another chance. Enter Travis. Travis was genuinely so kind, personable, and helpful. When I told him about my previous experience, he listened and sincerely apologized, even though he had nothing to do with it. I had also reserved and paid extra for a drive-up unit online, only to find out that one wasn’t actually available. Understandably, that was a little frustrating. But Travis immediately worked to find a solution and got me a unit right inside the doors to make moving my belongings as easy as possible. I really cannot overstate how much of a difference one good employee can make. Travis completely changed my perspective on this company. He was patient, accommodating, and just genuinely a good dude. Extra Space Storage is lucky to have him! My one remaining piece of feedback for the company: PLEASE consider installing some kind of mechanism to hold the entry doors open. There is truly nothing quite like trying to wheel heavy boxes through a doorway while the door slams into your back and you get stuck. A doorstop, magnetic hold-open, literally anything would make moving so much easier! All that said, thank you, Travis, for turning what I expected to be another frustrating experience into a really positive one. You deserve the recognition!
