So this very difficult for me to post because I respect the office staff. Chris has always been kind and professional helpful. So my whole life was Auctioned off illegally 2 days prior to the lien notice which I shouldn't have ever gotten to begin with. July 2nd Chris & I exchanged emails regarding payment to avoid lein fee next day. My pay doesn't post until late evening. He told me to call customer service and they could take the payment over the phone and of course that's exactly what I did. To my surprise and heartbreak after calling different times and speaking to different reps they said they could only take entire payment for June and July, keep in mind there is a 5 day grace period before late fee applies. So one of the reps told me I'd have to go in person to the office pay July 3rd which I did because it would be considered partial payment and no "partial payment " is accepted by phone or online & there is a partial form I need to fill out which I think Chris forgot to mention.You can only pay current month or pay many months in advance, how sweet. I told her well I better not be penalized a lein fee because I did as I was instructed. She informed me BTW there was a letter sent out about an increase she read to herself but never told me date of increase or how much extra. Fast forward I went into office next day Chris took the payment and was surprised they couldn't take June's payment and showed me on his computer how he was able to and he also stated he couldn't do anything about lein fee but he would take it to management. I never heard nothing back. I spoke to Judy- manager above Chris later on who was extremely rude & unprofessional and have asked district managers to pull up that conversation. So I informed Chris I would be making weekly payments to get caught before August. Made a payment following week. I had filed a complaint regarding the fee and turnaround time is 24-48 hrs. No one from 6 weeks ago has yet to call. Following week I chose not to continue making payments because they were not reaching back out to me after 3-4 escalation tickets. That told me they're about money not wanting to do what's right. I checked online to pay be caught before August and realized the amount doubled and I did not know what that much. Called Chris he stated rent went up and I never received a letter at all. Nothing changed. So they put my things for auction, my whole life, gave me a date if auction for August 12, 2026 @ 1:15. Pm. Come to find out on August 10, 2026 they had already opened the auction live for bidding. I got a knott in my throat. The lein notice does not say Auction closes at 1:15 pm which is false notice and illegal by the company. I reached out to Stored Treasures they blamed it on site office and office at Extra Space tells me it's up to 3rd party. My unit was E-158 for who ever bought it you got an entire house. After long extensive research this exact thing was done to others in the state of New York and a lawsuit filed on behalf of customers by New York Consumer & Worker Protection. Customer's won the lawsuit it describes everything I went through. Judy should not be in her position she has absolutely no people skills and I think Chris has more professionalism and has been helpful. I have filed my complaint as well with the state. It never should've gotten to this point. Don't do storage with this company if they're gunna continue these practices. From where I began I never could've imagined the emotional and mental stress this caused over something so small and turned big, lost my life in this storage all while having chronic health issues. Plz research same company across US so many people having same problems.
