Extra Space Storage open a new facility in McKinney on Custer Road recently – January 2025. I spoke with Tyler about renting a storage locker he gave me the prices showed me specific lockers. I told him I would call him back in a week or two, which I did. He was not available when I showed up at the facility so I dealt with Brandan who was present. I mentioned to Brandan that I had spoken to Tyler and had already viewed the units and knew which one I wanted it. He gave me a price that was nearly $30 more than what Tyler gave me and then I went on the Internet and got a third price. I understand that this particular location is new, but the company is not so it is on Incumbent upon ownership or upper management to ensure that everybody, including the Internet is on the same page when it comes to what is available along with the pricing guidelines. Brandan ended up handling it and charging me the same price that I was originally quoted, so all worked out in the end, but, as a suggestion for other prospective customers, I would suggest that you make sure that what you’re told is reality. Overall, the facility is extremely clean. Because it is brand new, and the choices of lockers and locations are very well laid out. I would recommend the facility to others. UPDATE March 7, 2026. Had my locker in the same location for a little over one year and I am very pleased with the service. This week I was rearranging my locker and dealt mainly with Nathan, who I have several occasions to engage for assistance when needed over the past year. Nathan is extremely customer service oriented and goes above and beyond in providing information and ensuring that the customer is satisfied with not only the locker itself, but the service being provided whenever needed. I would highly recommend this location to anyone searching for a locker in McKinney off of Custer between Eldorado and Highway 121.
