BEWARE - this storage facility doubles the rent after the first few months, then continues doubling it every 3-6 months after that. They do not warn you upon rental that this will happen. The agreement states they have the right to change the terms, including the price, upon 30 days written notice. This written notice comes in the form of a random postcard to your mailing address. No electronic notification. UPDATE: I started my rental (10x10 unit) on 10/5/26 at a rate of $84/mo. In February, they raised it to $156. I called the office to understand why it was doubling and they admitted that it was adjusted to above market rate, and reduced it…but only to $135. Now, I’ve received notice that beginning in September - less than 1 year after I began my rental - my rate will be increased ANOTHER HUNDRED DOLLARS to $235/mo. This is the most slimy, scammy, predatory business I have ever encountered. This is how people are pushed into homelessness. I am clearing out my storage unit and will never support Extra Space again.

READ BEFORE RENTING!! There are homeless people coming in and out of the storage unit on a daily basis. I know this because I was moving my belongings in for a whole week and saw the same people hanging out in storage units, coming in with shopping carts full of trash, and cleaning themselves in the bathrooms with the sink leaving it dirty in there. I had to buy spay because there are roaches coming out some of the storage unit doors. I booked this storage unit online because the price was so reasonable ($96 a month) and the pictures looked like the place was clean but I was unaware that after 30 days they can raise the price to over $200. I would have accepted that rate if the place were clean and safe but it is the complete opposite!! When I voiced my concerns I was told that they were aware of the homeless people and that the price increase has nothing to do with the conditions of the location and I would still recieve further price increases throughout the year. I recommend asking for a tour of the location before renting any of their locations and prepaying months in advance so they dont keep increasing the price by hundreds of dollars.
