What should have been a straightforward move-in turned into an exhausting, physically painful ordeal because the facility failed to provide the very assistance its office manager had promised. Before my scheduled move-in on September 30, 2026, I spoke with the facility office manager, Nita. I was informed that the elevators were broken and that the facility would provide complimentary movers to help customers move in as a courtesy while the elevators were out of service. I planned my move around that arrangement and trusted the information I was given. When my girlfriend and I arrived in the morning there were no movers. There had been no advance notification that the promised assistance would not be available. After I contacted Nita, she told me the movers had not been scheduled and that she was trying to determine what had happened. After hours of waiting and trying to obtain answers, I was eventually told by her DTL Marqui that the movers had canceled. These were two different explanations, and nobody provided a satisfactory resolution. My storage unit was on the fifth floor, the elevators were not working, and we were dealing with extreme heat. Instead of receiving the assistance that had been promised, my girlfriend and I had to carry everything up five flights of stairs ourselves. We spent several hours doing strenuous physical labor, experienced pain and exhaustion, and did not leave the facility until late that afternoon. Because the promised movers never showed up, . This situation could have been handled very differently if the facility had provided advance notice and allowed me to make alternative arrangements. Instead, I was left to deal with the consequences of a failure that was entirely outside my control. The response from management was equally disappointing. After trying to get answers and requesting escalation to a higher-level supervisor, the only meaningful compensation offered was a $50 account credit. I was also told I could receive a refund and find another storage facility, an unrealistic solution after I had already arrived with my belongings and arranged my entire day around this move. When I attempted to reach someone above the facility management level, the contact information I was given led me back into the same general phone system rather than providing a meaningful escalation path. A $50 credit does not adequately address what happened. It does not account for the last-minute moving expense, the hours of strenuous physical labor, the physical pain and exhaustion, or the disruption of an entire day. More importantly, it does not address the fundamental failure to deliver the assistance that was promised before I committed to renting the unit. The issue is not simply that a mover canceled. Unexpected problems can happen. The issue is that there was no advance notification, no effective alternative arrangement, no satisfactory explanation, and no meaningful effort to make things right after the fact. I expected professional management, clear communication, and reasonable customer service. Instead, I experienced a failed commitment, inconsistent explanations, an exhausting move under extreme conditions, and a resolution that felt dismissive of the actual impact on customers. I am documenting this experience with the Better Business Bureau and considering further action to recover my losses, unplanned labor, pain, and suffering. I would strongly encourage prospective customers to ask detailed questions about elevator availability, move-in assistance, and contingency plans before committing to this facility. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this location to anyone who depends on the facility to follow through on its stated arrangements.
