WORST PLACE TO RENT A STORAGE AT! And be careful with your surroundings because there aren't enough cameras to protect you from drifters. Can anyone relate as to how overwhelming it is to put your stuff in Storage? Not to mention the time, effort and money and how exhausting it is and be lied to about your move in price. I had all kinds of bitter experiences with this place. Rented for over 8 months and I experienced three times price gouging almost every three months. Started at $130 something a month to close to $500 after 7 months for a 10x30 storage unit. As the saying goes desperate times call for desperate measures. If life expenses wouldn't be at an all-time high life will definitely be great. As to my understanding Mr. Mickey the owner of this Franchise. Whom is a very rude individual, I would say go rent somewhere else. Like the Storage Hub or Tropicana Mini Storage where they only increase your rent by once a year. These are some of the disappointing experiences that I had while renting at Extra Space Storage. 1) walking in to make a payment and being rudely told by Mr. Mickey. Do I look like a bank to you? I don't take cash you have to go and deposit your money and pay with a card, never mind having to drive 5 miles to deposit money to my nearest bank. 2) Being harassed by a homeless person that snuck through the back Gates only to stand leaning against the keypad and refuse to move and harassed people by asking them to give her a ride up north. So in other words she was hitchhiking. And nothing got done after bringing it too Mr Micky. 3) there was always an entrance somewhere busted or broken like the front sliding glasses facing 66th Street that's spent months on end boarded up. 4) The rear ramp loading dock roll up door that apparently somebody crashed into months ago. 5)The side keypad next to that SkyZone entrance that would indicate access granted but the gate would never open. 6) finding a dead snake a few feet away from the sliding glass doors and bringing it to Mr. Mickey attention and him letting it sit there the whole day without sweeping it up. 7)They claim this climate control but most of the time you will roast in there if you stay there long enough. 8) My unit not having any over head lights that were ever working. Most of my side was normally really dark, this place is eerie enough as it is to not have it properly lit. 9) Dealing with self entitled people that would always come and look for you for you to move your vehicle when they were the last to arrive because they wanted to have that particular spot and always had an excuse for them to have the parking spot closest to the door. 10) The place is always dirty with debris and dead roach carcasses throughout the flooring. It doesn't look like anybody sweeps often. So in other words save yourself the headache, the money and keep your sanity and go somewhere else because people don't stay there for too long.
