I’ve been going to extra space for the last year or so in my experience has been so amazing with the help of Charles and Alonzo. They walked me through all the options I could do and were super helpful to me when I was out of the country. I love this place and the amazing people that work there!!

DO NOT RENT from Extra Space Storage. But, if you do, DO NOT agree to auto pay. Somewhere in the fine print, they authorize themselves to increase rates based on market conditions - seemingly at will; in my case that meant an almost 62% increase after 4 months renting a storage unit at Rhinehart Road in Lake Mary FL. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. AVOID AVOID AVOID. Adding insult to injury, when I called to ask about what appeared to be a gross mistake, Rodney (nice guys but with no authority) wanted to enter into a negotiation process. He quickly offered a 73% decrease from the rate increase but it has to be approved lol. Imagine, renting 4 months earlier and entering into a negotiation to stop them from using fine print to jack up the rental rates by almost 62%! This policy and practice is for the birds. I am surprised it is even allowed. Nonetheless, I am filing a complaint with FLDOA Division of Consumer Affairs and will additional reviews as time goes on since I plan on remaining as a customer and a thorn in the side of the business and fine print nonsense. Ps. I can never use their stupid app nor my phone to login.

Rating this business 4 stars is a collective rating based on a number of factors. Factor #1- Customer Service 5 ?'s: Darnell who was the manger at this location for a while was excellent. He definitely stayed on top of everything and was always friendly and professional. Since Darnell has left Charles, Alonzo and Aniya have definitely kept that momentum going. It makes a difference Factor #2- Facility Up Keep - 3 ?'s Rodents are an issue and wish poison could be placed around the interior of the building but I am aware that people may have vermin in their belongings when storing their items in those units. Factor #3- Entry and Exit 1 ? It is difficult to exit the premises after hours, if the automatic door at the loading dock closes. There is supposed to be a dial pad to reopen that door but I never see it. Got trapped in their more than a year ago until another costumer showed up that night.
