I would not recommend this location. After only about 2½ months, I unexpectedly received a phone call from the front office, which completely blindsided me, informing me that my rent was being increased from around $130/month to about $200/month. I originally rented here because the unit was advertised at around $130/month, and I even called corporate ahead of time to confirm the pricing and unit size before signing up. After complaining to management and corporate, they lowered it to around $164/month, but I still felt completely blindsided and put in a financial bind because it was far outside of what I originally budgeted for. What made the situation even worse was my interaction with Liz in the leasing office. When I tried explaining that this pricing was not transparent and felt unfair, Liz came from behind the desk, got up on the side of me, nearly in my ear, wagging her finger in my face while repeatedly saying, “It’s in the contract, it’s in the contract.” Her face was turning red, and the entire interaction felt aggressive, disrespectful, and completely unprofessional. I even asked her, “Would you want to be in this situation?” After I asked that, her demeanor changed. From my perspective, it seemed like she understood my point and would not have liked being in that situation either, but she still stood by “it’s in the contract.” Also, when I arrived with my U Haul to move in, the move in costs were actually over $200 because of added charges like a lock and insurance that were not clearly explained upfront when I called about the advertised price. I also had an incident where I fell off a U Haul truck on the property and had to go to the emergency room. I requested security footage to provide to U Haul because the accident caused delays and complications. At first, someone at the store told me it sounded like getting the footage might be possible. Then later, I was told I would need a court order to access it, which made an already stressful situation even harder. Also, people should understand how strict the payment process is. If you are about 3 to 5 days late, they will lock you out of your storage unit and deny digital access to the building, meaning you cannot access your belongings. I was also informed that if you become around 36 days late, there is about a $120 state fee related to the process of preparing for auction procedures, on top of a regular late fee of around $30. When I lost my job, I explained my situation and hoped there would be some understanding as someone who had consistently paid, but I personally did not feel there was much compassion or willingness to work with me. Thankfully, I was able to catch up before losing my belongings, but based on my experience, I would not rent here again.
