READ THIS BEFORE YOU RENT HERE: Last year I had moved all of my belongings into this extra space storage. It was supposed to be quick after a sudden move. The winter came and we had decided to come back in the spring. Upon arriving a mouse ran up to my feet. As I looked closer all of my stuff was coated in feces, piss and dead mice. It looked as if someone took a giant box of chocolate sprinkles and dumped it on everything. They got into all my boxes, my furniture. They tore up my couch. They nested in everything. WE HAD NO FOOD IN THERE. The response was that they cannot help if other people have food and then the mice go from unit to unit. They also have the traps outside the units, so to them they did all they could do. If you are looking to store bulk plastic furniture or have everything in totes this might be a decent place. Just make sure you wear a hazmat suit when you come to pick it all up. That’s the thing that upset me, I didn’t know everything needs to be stored in totes. They should have a warning. Young people have boxes that’s what we have I mean I didn’t know that. We had to pay $100 dollars to take 75% of our belongings to the dump. Once we cleared it out the state of it became even clearer. The floor was covered in droppings. Millions. My friends and I wore masks and gloves. There were dead mice stuck to the cement. I then refused to pay for it. Because of this I wasn’t allowed back to get the rest of my stuff (which was just a couple lawn chairs, & an entertainment center.) These places ARE NOT corporate owned. That means the individual who owns this specific building makes all the rules. This also means corporate is not responsible for anything that happens, if you call them they will ignore you. They will ignore all your calls. Legally they are allowed to do this. It’s very scary and heartbreaking. It makes you feel like you’ve had the wool pulled over your eyes, you are completely in the dark and have no options. We moved all our stuff to another unit around that’s obviously cleaner and owned by decent people. Even when I explained this to corporate in emails they would not return my calls. Obviously if I’m moving my stuff to another unit I’m not just somebody looking to not pay. I was treated worse than an animal. I cried for hours. The manager here called me on the phone and didn’t listen to a word I said, didn’t care and even mocked me saying “your auction is on Tuesday honey!” Along the lines of thinking I was losing more of my only belongings in the entire world. I couldn’t imagine a woman could be more cruel to someone who just lost 75% of her belongings. She thought it was funny. Just pay me she said, nothing is their fault the filth and grime and nasty things I had to clean with my friends is just the way it goes. We have pictures and videos. By the time the call was over my heart was broken and I couldn’t even believe what just happened to me. I gave up and let them take the last couple pieces of furniture I had in there. Cut my losses and tried to move on. This is a warning to all of you who want to go here. Especially if you are a mother and have old baby clothes or toys to store. You will not be treated with respect if something goes wrong on their end. You will be treated worse than an insect. I’m not kidding at all. These little comments they leave are just to save face. Make no mistake after hearing her mock me and laugh I know they do not care at all. I haven’t had any issues with my new unit of now a year which is clean and good to go. We pay on time every single month just as we did with them before all of this happened. I’m warning all of you from the bottom of my heart. (Jocelyn is nice but not in charge of anything the other woman is, don’t think bc Jocelyn is so nice everything is fine it’s not)
