I have never had a problem with this place until this morning when I checked my account to see my rent had doubled from $62 to $124. When I called to inquire about the increase in price, they said it was because I didn't answer their "Notice of Increase" that they sent in the mail. I'll be honest, I never saw anything in the mail from them but it's wild how they could double your rent based off of something so simple to miss anyway. A business that operates this way, and I say this to all and anyone reading this, should not be dealt with in any capacity. Anyway I called up there and spoke with the manager to see what the deal was and she said that she could do a negotiation that would take up 24 hours which is great except that I still have to pay the next balance, also for $135. How accommodating... I told her that there is no negotiation and that if they can't revert this that I will be out and that's the last balance I will pay. Completely unbelievable. Don't get played by these people. If you do decide to actually do business with Extra Scam Storage make sure to turn off your autopay and check month to month so what happened to me doesn't happen to you. EXPERIENCE AFTER "NEGOTIATING" WITH MANAGEMENT: 1. Talked to manager Ralph who said he could negotiate back to original rate but was generous enough to apply a credit to March. 2. He said I would still be responsible for the $135 rent for both February and March but the offered credit lowered the March payment to $101. Stood my ground since this is supposed to be a negotiation and said 'no I want the charge completely removed for March because it's unethical.' Management disagreed and said it was more than fair. I said okay there's no point in continuing this one-sided negotiation. 3. Paid out my balance and immediately got most of my stuff out of the unit. Would have been there a year if my rent stayed untouched ($62 x 12mo = $744) but realized management was actually kind enough (or banking on me not moving out cause we have too much stuff or nowhere to put it) to only charge me $62 x 3mo + $135 + $101 = $422. 4. Thanks to both Ralph and Renee at Extra Space Storage! You saved me over $300 and I get to tell everyone about my wonderful experience and the money I saved! 5. Stars. 6. ???? 7. Profit!
