I have mixed feelings about my experience with Extra Space Storage. One drawback is the location. If you rely on public transportation, be aware that it is not particularly convenient. There is limited transit access, the bus service is infrequent, and the facility is not located near a train station. Reaching the facility often requires a significant amount of walking, which was frustrating and not what I expected when I rented the unit. On the positive side, the female staff members I interacted with were welcoming, professional, and personable. Unfortunately, my overall experience was negatively impacted by an interaction with a black male employee. Initially, he was very helpful during my first 2 visits, and our conversations extended beyond storage-related matters. However, after a personal exchange, he sent me a text message that I found disrespectful and unprofessional. At one point, he told me never to ask for his help again. Regardless of any personal differences, I do not believe employees should communicate with customers in that manner. Professional boundaries exist for a reason, and when those boundaries are crossed, it can affect a customer’s sense of trust and comfort. While I appreciate the assistance I received initially, this experience left me disappointed and has changed my perception of the business. I hope management takes customer interactions seriously and ensures that all employees maintain professionalism both inside and outside of the facility when engaging with clients.
