In the end, he helped me to reserve the right unit for my specific situation. A clean facility with climate controlled units available. The facility is gated and an access code required to get in. While it is located near railroad tracks and an elevated highway, they close at 7pm (4pm on Sundays), so you aren't there in the evening anyway. And, as I mentioned, it is a secure facility. Staff has been friendly and helpful. Overall, we have been happy with the cleanliness and security of Extra Space Storage on E Carson St.
