Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. What isn’t up to par is the doors entering the storage units, it doesn’t open fully and closes too quickly.

Overall, I had a satisfactory experience with Extra Space Storage on Little Creek Blvd. in Norfolk, VA. My gear was kept safe, cool, and dry over the two years I kept things there. That said, I had a few issues I believe are worth addressing. Only a few weeks after renting my storage unit, they raised the price on my 5x5 ft unit to nearly double ($35 to $62) what I had originally rented the unit for. I addressed this issue with them, but they upheld their change amd charged me the new rate. To this day, they still advertise web bookings (which I did) as only costing $40, but unless something has changed they will likely raise your rate after a month or two, just as they did with me. Hopefully this is explained in their new contract. Also, while the storage facility was in pristine condition when I originally rented my unit, it is borderline decrepit now! Sliding doors only open half way, keys on keypads get stuck requiring you to have to enter your code multiple times, and the elevators are slow and make strange noises. Once inside, the facility gives off abandoned spaceship vibes. All of that said, I agreed to pay $35 a month to have my stuff kept safe and secure, and while they raised the price on me right away, my stuff was kept secure just as agreed. Also, the staff were nothing but helpful and professional throughout, so no complaints there! If I had nowhere else to go, I would definitely use Extra Space Storage on Little Creek Blvd. in Norfolk, VA again... but I'd exhaust other options first.
