    How to Open an Extra Space Storage Unit

    Extra Space Storage units are designed with roll-up doors that make accessing your belongings simple and secure. Opening your unit only takes a few easy steps:

    • Step 1: Unlock your storage unit using your key or combination lock. Remove the lock from the latch or disengage the cylinder lock if provided.

    • Step 2: Slide the latch out of the locking bracket.

    • Step 3: Grip the handle at the bottom of the roll-up door and pull upward to open the unit fully.

    • Step 4: When finished, pull the door down carefully, slide the latch back into place, and reattach your lock to secure the unit.
