Are Storage Units Month to Month?

Storage units can be rented on a month-to-month basis at Extra Space Storage. We also offer the option to prepay up to six months of rent. These flexible leasing options allow you to rent self storage for as little or as long as you need.

While some Extra Space Storage customers rent self storage long-term, many of our storage customers rent monthly storage units for short-term situations like:

• Moving to a new home or office space

• Decluttering or remodeling a home

• Working through a major life transition

• Storing dorm room items over summer break
